The California Institute of the Arts holds an annual Digital Arts Expo to showcase student and faculty artwork and design that utilizes and explores advanced technology and new media.
Work showcased at the Expo explores creative computing, digital animation, electronic instrument design, game development...
Work is curated by students, and displayed/performed throughout the school.
Each year, many noted New Media artists, and representatives from creative technology companies and organizations attend the Digital Arts Expo to see some of the challenging work by some of the forwardthinkengest kids in the future.
The Digital Arts Expo app augments the experience of student and faculty work with information and media pertaining to the Art, Artists, and Technologies on display.
The app also provides wayfinding to help users locate the work installed throughout the school.
Though this feature doesnt sound thrilling, the California Institute of the Arts is a multileveled Byzantine maze that dynamically reconfigures its floor-plan to confuse invaders.
The app was designed and developed by a small team of student curators to improve the experience of the Arts Expo, and to aid in the wider distribution and presentation of their classmates work.
